Panchayat Samiti Sawali
The Panchayat Samiti was established on 14 March 1997 and the total area of the taluka is 49312 sq. km. There are a total of 109 villages in the taluka and the number of Gram Panchayats is 54. This taluka is forested and mainly agricultural. There is Asola Mendha Lake in the north of the taluka and it is used for irrigation. Under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, 50 crore trees have been planted in the taluka under the tree plantation program from 2016-17 to 2020-21 and the environment is being improved due to the cultivation of trees to maintain the balance of nature. There are 28,525 job card holder families in the taluka and 24,712 laborers have been provided work in the financial year. Also, the total manpower of the taluka has been recorded as 4,34,329. Along with this, Savli taluka is at number 1 in providing work to the largest number of laborers on MNREGA work in the district. Out of the 54 Gram Panchayats in the taluka, 5 Gram Panchayats have become Smart Gram Panchayats and the remaining Gram Panchayats are moving towards becoming smart. Also, 5 Gram Panchayats in the taluka have been ISO certified. Nominations have been received and 5 Gram Panchayats have become paperless. This Panchayat Samiti is working on the path of ISO nomination and is moving towards creating a website for P.S. Sawali.
