About the Department
The Head of Small Irrigation Department is a Class 1 officer of the State Government. His designation is District Water Conservation Officer, along with an Assistant District Water Conservation Officer of Class I. In addition, a Class 1 officer works as a Sub-Divisional Water Conservation Officer.
Increasing the irrigation projects and irrigation projects under the water conservation and providing irrigation facilities under water conservation and by providing its benefits to the farmers, it can be inflated and the eradication of the water level in the field. Also, these projects contribute to wildlife conservation. Also, irrigation wells are being constructed on a large scale as irrigation facilities are available in the district. Due to all these factors, this department has a unique importance in the district.

Task
- To provide irrigation facilities to the farmers of the district.
- To repair the water conservation schemes within the area of 0 to 100 hectares which are not in good condition and to increase the irrigation facilities for agriculture in the district by undertaking new schemes.
- To provide irrigation facilities for agriculture by constructing and repairing irrigation wells/M.M.A. ponds/L.P. ponds/Kolhapuri dams.
